About Me
So to tell you a bit about who I am… As stated in my little welcome message, my name is McKay Hawkes. I am my kids dad, my parents kid, my wife’s husband, an artist, a writer, a professor, a student and just another guy doing his part populate this tiny little, yet hugely complex, miraculous blue sphere.
Currently I am working with an awesome group of creative professionals at Dmax Imaging, heading up the 3D department. I am also a freelance digital artist, consultant, and a part time Professor at the Academy of Art University teaching advanced 3d modeling, texturing, and rendering.
I am an out of the box thinker… Actually I usually think so far out of the box, it doesn’t even factor into the equation. I really enjoy peaceful, relaxing time with my family. My kids are awesome ( I have 4). I like to draw, sculpt, invent and create most anything. I like airplanes.. one day I will learn to fly. I love to learn. I like to be around people who are genuine.. even if they have faults. I have ADHD, in case you can’t tell from this paragraph.
I try to live according to my conscience and intuition. I believe in traditional family values. I think the best things in life are the most simple and are often overlooked; A cool breeze, the sound of the leaves in the trees, the feel of grass on your toes, a hug from the kids, a peaceful walk with my wife, fuzzy warm socks on a cold evening… stuff like that.
I am a believing LDS (mormon) member. I am not naive to controversy be it in religion, education, history or politics. I will always consider and ponder on any point of view. I appreciate truth for what it is, not what I will it to be.
I aspire to continue to grow closer with my family and friends, to always learn, to create, to not take myself too seriously, to teach, to inspire, to forgive and be forgiven, to be a part of a community, to create opportunities for myself and others, to develop whatever talents I have, and to always appreciate what I have been blessed with.
